In ‘The Hobbit’, Sauron hid his true identity at first and was only known as the Necromancer. He held the stronghold of Dol Guldur in southern Mirkwood. He used his time there to rebuild his strength and grow in power. He sought out news about the One Ring. Gandalf eventually discovered that this mysterious
necromancer was indeed Sauron, the Dark Lord, and sought to mobilise allies to resist his return to power.

This is the 173rd release in the Gold Status Fellowship club and was January 2020's Winning idea. It was suggested by 'eleamar'. The base is 39mm x 37mm. The figure is technically 32mm scale because Sauron is bigger than a normal human and his body would be closer to 54mm in height if he stood up. There are seven parts that require assembly (i.e.: base, chair, Sauron's head, left arm, right arm, upper body and lower body). All parts are made of an alloy of tin and lead.

This product is not suitable for children under the age of 14.

    Magnificent miniature

Necromancer of Mirkwood was always a mystery-wrapped character. This interpretation presented to us by Chris Tubb perfectly describes a character like this. Powerful at the same time and pictorially positioned on a mighty throne.

    The Necromancer of Mirkwood

The miniature has a good quality. It shows an unusual and majestatic pose of Sauron. I would improve the folds of clothing just a little bit and I would try to do more evident the link with the feet. By the rest, It is AN amazing pierce.

    Great model

This might be the most beautiful model I've ever painted. It is both intricate and simple. Everything fit together well. It was a true joy to assemble and paint.

MZ683 LORD OF THE RINGS 'THE NECROMANCER OF MIRKWOOD™' FELLOWSHIP FIGURE.

This is a nice dynamically posed figure of The Necromancer seated upon a chair, leaning slightly forward as if giving audience to a servant, or a captain of his guard maybe. The clothing is nicely rendered and has ‘movement’. The chair is a simple but nicely designed piece and the helm gives the Necromancer a suitably menacing look while still serving its purpose of keeping The Necromancer/Sauron’s features hidden and left to the viewer’s imagination. My only ‘gripe’ with this figure is that the feet are cast integral to the base, which will restrict the options of the more imaginative painter, but nothing that a fine saw cannot sort out. Overall another very nice figure from Chris Tubb and Mithril Miniatures.
