Affectionately known as Forlong the fat by the people of Gondor because of this great girth, Forlong the Old was lord of Lossarnach, the richest of Gondor’s provinces. He brought two hundred well-armed troops to the defense of Minas Tirith and himself died at the battle of the Pelennor fields, while fighting the Easterling horde.
