September 2022 Releases: Gandalf and Pippin on Shadowfax & Gandalf smoking pipe.

We are pleased to announce the resumption of Mithril releases . After a long period of trials and experimentation, we have found the best results obtained are from 3D printing. So all the the new Mithril miniatures will now be 3D printed. This gives sharp detail, has no parting line and obviates the need to cut up complex figures into many pieces. And gives much more freedom in the design. They are printed in a matt grey resin and because of its popularity in the past, we are trialing to undercoat the figures again. We are very excited about this new technology and we hope you will be too. Initially we will have 2 new miniatures a month.

The two releases for September involve first MZ702 Gandalf and Pippin on Shadowfax. This depicts the return to Minas Tirith by Gandalf after his visit to Rohan to seek aid to break the siege by Mordor on Gondor's capital city. The second release is MZ706 Gandalf smoking pipe. This is a classic Gandalf the Grey smoking his favourite pipeweed while lost in thought. Both of these were Fellowship winning ideas from 2021 (June and October respectively).
