Mithril is gearing up for a slew of new releases this summer and we start off with MZ681, a long awaited oathbreaker release, that builds on the other miniatures released around this fascinating theme. The Deadman Captain was a human who broke his oath to Isildur to fight Sauron, and due to the magical nature of oaths, which are even more powerful than curses, he had to wait until a suitable descendant of Isildur gave him the opportunity to amend his error. Aragorn did so and they fought the Umbar pirates, allies of Sauron. Afterwards he agreed that they had finally fulfilled their oath and they were freed to finally rest.
The second release was from October 2020 and contains a beautiful vignette of Sam Gamgee (MZ693), the gardener and best friend of Frodo, throwing up the last few grains of blessed soil he received from Galadriel as a final blessing. This soil was held in a small wooden box with a 'G' on it. He had used most of it already to replant trees around the Shire that had been destroyed by Saruman's influence. The soil was blessed and from Galadriel's own garden and was incredibly fertile. The Three Farthing Stone marker was near the center of the Shire.
