Originally a Mannish term for wolves generally, by the Third-age the name Warg had come to mean that evil and corrupted species that roamed the northern lands of Eriador and Rhovanion. The Wargs were larger than regular wolves and were used as mounts by Goblins and smaller Orcs. Like the Orcs they shunned the sunlight and appeared for the most part only in the hours of darkness.
This is the 160th release in the Gold Status Fellowship club and was May 2019's Winning idea. It was suggested by 'ddaines'. The warg captain measures 35mm in height to tip of the Warg's nose. There are 3 figures in this blister.
I think Chris Tubb has perfectly captured what I had in mind when suggesting the Warg-Captain and has followed the sketch concept very closely. The bonus being the inclusion of two extra wargs, and all for a very good price. The wargs are sculpted in the Mithril style with nicely rendered fur, and the pose of each one compliments the others; the howling Captain being the focal point. Each warg is a single casting so no assembly is required. As is standard with MZ releases, the figures are not undercoated. Size-wise they are slightly smaller than other Wargs/wolves issued by Mithril, but they make a nice set on their own, and you get three figures for not much more than the price of a single figure. Overall an excellent release and great value for money.
